Must see and do in Adelaide and South Australia

Discover Adelaide’s stunning beaches!
Take a tram ride to Glenelg or bus to Henley Beach. Hire a car or your own car and drive to beach side hot spots on the Fleurieu Peninsula such as Port Willunga, Goolwa, Normanville or Victor Harbor. Or jump across to gorgeous Kangaroo Island where pretty much any beach is perfect.

See Pandas among other fascinating animals at the Adelaide Zoo or head down to Monarto. Monarto is Australia’s largest open range zoo and just an hour drive from Adelaide City. View a range of animals from the spectacular viewing platforms such as White Rhino, Lions, Giraffes & more. Cleland Conservation Park in the Adelaide Hills is 35 hectares of open bushland where you can feed kangaroos as they laze, wander wetlands, hold a koala, and surround yourself with over 130 species of Australian wildlife.

Take a walk along the North Terrace precinct North Terrace precinct is home to the Art Gallery of South Australia, the South Australian Museum, Ayers House, the Botanic Gardens, National Wine Center and the Parliament House.

Adelaide is the ultimate in stress-free shopping. Rundle Mall has more than 700 boutiques and specialty shops set amongst elegant arcades, streets and lane ways. For something a little edgy and unique explore Rundle Street and Ebenezer Place or head to Melbourne and O’Connell Streets in North Adelaide for great designer and fashion boutiques. For outlet shopping, head to Harbour Town, just 20 minutes west of the city near the airport.

Torrens River

From the beach side suburb of Henley Beach to the city’s north-eastern suburbs, the River Torrens Linear Park is the ideal choice for families and those looking for a leisurely walk, jog or cycle. The trail runs right through the city centre, passing the Adelaide Festival Centre, Adelaide Convention Centre and Adelaide Zoo, providing an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Users can pick up the path at countless spots, however the city section – near Elder Park – is generally the most popular option. Many people choose to stop half-way along the banks of the River for a picnic or to feed the ducks – the perfect way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Wine and Dine
Adelaide has a wide range of cafes and restaurants where you can find cuisines from all around the world, and some terrific cheap eats and specials. Head to Rundle Street, Gouger Street and Chinatown in the city or venture out of the city square mile to O’Connell Street in North Adelaide, or Jetty Road at Glenelg. Adelaide’s new Leigh Street and Peel Street precinct is a haven for fantastic little bars and restaurants.

Tequila Sunrise Hostel

The Tequila Sunrise Hostel boasts 18 rooms and 134 beds. The Hostel is located at 123 Waymouth St, which is 10 minutes from the airport and a short distance from the bus terminal and Adelaide universities. The location is perfection.
